A letter from Native American leaders supporting Keith

Fellow Democrat,

We're writing for one simple reason: to let you know why we, as Native American leaders, are proud to endorse Keith Ellison for DNC Chair.

Keith has never taken our community for granted. While Native people have consistently voted for Democratic candidates and policies, he fundamentally understands that the Democratic Party must work to earn our support – not just when it's election season, but 365 days a year.

And so, time and again, he's shown just how much he cares about us. For instance, he has spoken out against the Dakota Access pipeline; he has supported Native American candidates; and as the Congressman from the 5th Congressional District in Minnesota, which has one of the largest urban American Indian communities in the country, he has held numerous roundtables to hear directly from our people.

If elected DNC Chair, he has already promised to continue being there for us, and to give us a seat at the table so that our voices are heard.

Fellow Democrat, there's no doubt that you have a tough decision to make in Atlanta. But know this: we've decided to endorse Keith because he doesn't just say he'll fight for you; he'll actually do it. We know that from personal experience, and we hope you'll join us in supporting him.

Sincerely,
