To Whom It May Concern:
We come together as leaders from Jewish communities across our nation to share our deep alarm at the unfounded and dishonest accusations of anti-Semitism directed at Congressman Keith Ellison.
As Jewish professionals, lay leaders and activists, we know that Keith forcefully rejects anti-Semitism and other forms of hate or discrimination. His commitment to inclusion and fairness are values that define the foundation of his public service and his vision for America.

As an elected official, Rep. Ellison has hosted briefings and panels about confronting anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial, voted to strengthen anti-hate crime legislation, and stood with Jewish government officials against anti-Semitism. In 2010, a group of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian faith leaders visited the Dachau and Auschwitz concentration camps to witness firsthand the horrors of the Holocaust. Rep. Ellison invited the trip participants to testify before Congress to discuss the need for Americans of all religious backgrounds to speak out against anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial.
We are similarly disturbed by suggestions that Keith is not pro-Israel. He is and has long been a friend of Israel, a champion of  pro-peace policies, and an elected official whose thoughtful leadership has shown deep respect for Jewish values and the Jewish people.
Keith Ellison has demonstrated support for Israel and its legitimacy as the democratic homeland of the Jewish people throughout his career. Keith has supported and voted for more than $27 billion in bilateral aid and assistance to Israel,  and is a strong supporter of a two-state solution.
To be clear, this is not an endorsement of Keith’s candidacy for Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Rather, it is a call to reject the unfair and baseless accusations some have leveled at him.
None of us agree on everything, and we may see different paths to peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
But we all agree: Keith Ellison rejects anti-Semitism and is a supporter of Israel.
